Meet the Team

Chiropractor in Raleigh, NC

Dr. James Winget

Doctor of Chiropractic

I am the cofounder of Raleigh Specific Chiropractic with my wife Dr. Jill.

My calling to become a chiropractor started when I began wrestling at 8 years old and continued on through high school in NJ and Division 1 wrestling at Clarion University of PA.  While competing on state championship teams and individually in gymnastics and wrestling, I encountered many sports related injuries.  These injuries accumulated over time leading to severe neck pain related to 2 bulging discs.  I had to choose between invasive surgery or a natural approach through corrective chiropractic care.  I choose the latter and have helped many patients do the same in Raleigh, NC since we opened our doors in 1995.

Throughout my wrestling endeavors, I firmly believed that my achievements on the mat were a result of my holistic approach to my health, encompassing getting weekly adjustments, regular exercise, a nutrient-rich diet, and strong mental focus.

During my upbringing, I figured out early on that staying well adjusted all throughout my childhood provided me with certain advantages as an athlete.  I noticed that I rarely was sick, I didn’t deal with repetitive injuries, allergies or anxiety, and I was able to keep focus and do well in school.  Additionally, whenever I faced injuries, my body seemed to recover at a quicker pace compared to my peers.

I completed my Doctorate of Chiropractic at Life University in Marietta, GA.   I have maintained comprehensive approach to patient care, utilizing techniques such as Diversified, Thompson Drop, Gonstead, Toggle, ProAdjustor and the Arthrostim.  I have extensive training in the use of Low Level Laser Therapy and certification in the use of Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression to ensure that every patient receives the most well-rounded and effective care.  I am a member of the North Carolina Chiropractic Association and the International Chiropractic Association.

I am dedicated to guiding my patients towards true health and healing through an inside-out approach that honors the innate wisdom of the body.  Helping you to move, heal and feel 100% is my passion.  I pride myself on being a compassionate listener and am truly interested in your well-being.  You will often see entire families heading into RSC’s office for optimal health!  My excitement for healing will help empower you to make the healthy changes you deserve in your life.

“I believe that a properly functioning nervous system is the foundation of health”.

I have had the blessing of helping thousands of patients in this area regain and maintain their health through chiropractic care.   In the past 30 years that RSC has served the area, we have been able to see people recover from headaches and migraines, avoid back surgeries as well as helped infants and young adults get a healthy start being adjusted from birth.

It is not just the number of years that we live; it’s the quality of life that we have within them.   That’s why everything that we do here at RSC is focused to help individuals achieve their best level of health.   Our focus with our patients is working at creating and maintaining a life that embodies healthy living.

My family lives our life exactly emulating what we share with our patients.  We work daily to eat properly, exercise regularly, decrease stress and toxins and get adjusted regularly.  Outside of the office, I love spending time with my family, golfing, biking, working out, reading and time at the beach.  I believe that chiropractic care is the cornerstone to healthy living.

I have spent many years studying health and wellness.  My journey began at Utica College of Syracuse University in New York followed by receiving my Doctorate in Chiropractic at Life University in Marietta, GA.  I have advanced studies in spinal decompression and disc injuries as well as nutrition, low level laser, chiropractic neurology and pediatrics.  I continue to spend a significant amount of time studying the latest research surrounding natural healthy living.

My role is working with our new patients introducing them to the work that we do here creating the best plan of care to fulfill their health goals.  It is a pleasure to pair patients with the tools that we have to improve their health and then watch them heal.  I am in the community regularly teaching about health and wellness at local and corporate wellness events.

Each person is an individual to us and our priority is to help them have the best possible experience.   We would look forward to being your chiropractor!
